Principal’s Message

September 2023

Welcome to our school community, where our guiding principle “Igniting the Spirit” is inspired by the emblematic Flames. Much like the apostles who were infused with the Holy Spirit on Pentecost, our students will encounter the essence of Christ’s teachings not only in their prayers, studies, and activities but also in the profound connections they form within this Catholic school. The symbolism of the dove encapsulates our commitment to fostering harmony in relationships.

Our dedicated staff takes pride in offering a faith-enriched educational journey that harmoniously nurtures the intellectual, physical, and spiritual aspects of each student. One of the most meaningful contributions we can make to our children’s growth is to collaborate in guiding them toward the values and responsibilities that pave the way for a purposeful life as responsible Christian adults. We strive to do this by infusing the Ontario Catholic Graduation expectations with social-emotional learning on a daily basis. If you ever have inquiries or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out to your child’s teacher. It is through open and respectful communication that we offer a profound example to our children.

We eagerly anticipate numerous opportunities to engage with each of you throughout the upcoming year. You will receive a weekly update from the Principal’s office each Thursday to your email. Please refer to this to stay on top of all our happenings! Follow us on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/stambrosestratford?mibextid=2JQ9oc

Your involvement is instrumental in the realization of our shared vision. Together, we can truly ignite the spirit within our students and cultivate an environment where they flourish academically, spiritually, and emotionally.

About us:

St. Ambrose School is a JK – 8 school, with  7 classrooms. Our school population is approximately 170 students.  We partner with Stratford Cygnets to offer a daycare as well as a before and after school care program.  At St. Ambrose, we have a strong focus on faith and academic development.  We work closely with the Avon-Thames Family of Parishes, to prepare for sacraments and foster a sense of spirituality. Our school improvement plan has 4 areas of focus: Math, Literacy, Faith, and Equity Inclusion and Anti-racisim.  The expectations of our graduates are described not only in terms of knowledge and skills, but in terms of values, attitudes and actions.Choosing a school is one of the most important decisions you will make in your child’s life.  It is the place your child will spend most of his or her day, learning important skills, interacting with other children, and growing in so many ways. We invite you to contact our office for more information.
