Principal’s Message

September 2019

On behalf of the staff at St. Ambrose Catholic School,  we would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to our website for the 2019-20 school year. St. Ambrose is a warm, welcoming and faith-filled community where staff members work together with our parent community to support the learning and growth of all students. The Ontario Catholic Graduate Expectations are taught to our students throughout the curriculum.  Students and staff participate in a variety of liturgies, clubs, teams, activities and events, all marked by our faith.  It is a beautiful community and we welcome you to join us!

The theme for Catholic Education for the 2019-20 year is Igniting the Hope. We share the message that we must always have Hope and to strive to walk with Jesus as followers in faith. We work to ignite the joy and hope in our students and open their hearts to journey with us as Christians in a Catholic school. This is what we will continue to strive for within the HPCDSB and at St. Ambrose Catholic school. This is a collective responsibility that we all know takes the collaboration with home, school and parish. We look forward to this learning journey alongside our students and families. Together we celebrate this gift of Catholic Education with you all as we nurture and model for our students how to grow in Christ, friendship and develop knowledge.

St. Ambrose Catholic school understands the very core of inclusion. We believe that every person who walks through our door must be treated with dignity and respect. Individual differences are celebrated, as we know that diversity is a gift from God. Each person in our school community enriches our faith filled environment with their own unique gifts and talents.

Each week, we share a “Parent Week-at-a-Glance (WAAG) that is emailed to all parents/guardians. This is a weekly update on current events and upcoming ones as well. We use our Facebook page (facebook.com/stambrosestratford) and twitter account, both of which can also be accessed on our website. Please go on and read all about us!! Like our Facebook page to get connected and keep up with all of the exciting activities at St. Ambrose Catholic School.

Thank you for your interest in St. Ambrose Catholic School.

With Respect,

Jennifer Ritsma, Principal
